Episode #1072 - Fr. Emmanuel Lemelson
Kushner’s Albanian Heist: Middle Eastern Billions vs. Orthodox Resistance
Today I sat down with Father Emmanuel Lemelson (Greek-American Orthodox priest with deep Albanian family ties) discusses the controversial Kushner-Ivanka Trump purchase of a strategic Albanian island. He criticizes the deal as a corrupt, clandestine land grab backed by Middle Eastern (Saudi/Qatari) money through Kushner’s Affinity Partners fund, enabled by Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama. Lemelson highlights Albania’s rich Christian history, its resilience under Ottoman and communist rule, its surprising homogeneity, shrinking nominal Muslim population, and rapid Orthodox Christian revival. He frames the island controversy as a spiritual and cultural attack on an ancient Christian nation by globalist/Islamic/Zionist interests, contrasts thriving Eastern Orthodoxy with collapsing Western Christianity, and warns against religious syncretism, secularism, and elite exploitation while praising Albanian resistance.

This week’s lineup alternated between grumbling at my radio and thought provoking. Fr. Emmanuel was certainly thought provoking.
I'm not a fan of this guy, he seems to hate all religions other than Orthodox. I'm Catholic, albeit not practicing, but I have a hard time not taking offense. I don't like it when people lump every single person of a certain group together and paint them all with the same brush. That's like if you knew a person named Sue who is a red head and you said everyone named Sue is a red head. I this guy has travelled extensively and has much more experience than me, but I stick by this statement - don't lump me in with the Catholics overseas. We're bound to be vastly different people.
