Episode #1086 - Tanner Hnidey

The Newman Tornado Hits the Road: Interviews, Homeschooling and a Cross-Continent Journey

Hey everyone, I just sat down with Tanner for a good chat four days before we hit the road for our year-long family adventure. We’re leaving July 5th to loop through Alberta first — starting with some interviews in Leduc, then east of Calgary, Cypress Hills, Regina Beach, and into Manitoba — before heading down to Minnesota to see Mel’s family, then pushing east to Newfoundland by ferry on September 9th. From there it’s the U.S. East Coast, Martin Armstrong’s conference, back to store the rig in Minnesota, and then off to Panama, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Australia. We’re renting out the house, Mel’s taking a sabbatical to homeschool the kids in our 21-foot hybrid trailer, and I’m excited (and a little nervous) about the tight quarters, keeping the podcast going on the road with Starlink, and seeing what doors God opens. We talked about the incredible community support — from the souped-up Suburban to gas money and places to stay — and dove into faith, Paul’s missionary journeys, sharing testimonies, trusting the Lord when plans change, and how this trip is about family, fresh eyes on the country, and chasing conversations that matter.
