Coming back to Canada sure is a real treat. Climate lockdowns, $28,000 for a walk in the woods, is the question for Alberta independence constitutional, and BC rulings on private land are just some of the things I walked back into from a month abroad. Not to mention its cold and I feel like a real softy for saying that.
The picture above pretty much sums it up. Its from the 1982 film First Blood, where Sheriff Will Teasle confronts John Rambo and tries to drive him out of the town. If I re-did the movie scene I think it would go something like this:
Premier of Nova Scotia: "You got some place to go, Evely?"
Jeff Evely: "Just heading out for a walk in the woods."
Premier: "A walk in the woods, huh? You got proper gear for that? Supplies?"
Jeff Evely: "I’ve got what I need."
Premier: "Well, you know, we don’t need wanderers stirring things up around here. Folks traipsing through the woods, getting lost, starting forest fires. We don’t want you starting forest fires, Evely. You get what I’m saying?"
Jeff Evely: "I’m not looking for trouble. Just a quiet hike."
Premier: "Maybe so, but we don’t want your kind around here. It’s a quiet province, and we aim to keep it that way."
…..What a world
On our travels back we stopped through Manitoba and ran into Peter Morran (Guest on the first Blue Collar Roundtable)
And Jamie Sinclair - he took us on a tour of his campground. If your in the Regina area you should look Jim up at his campground in Regina Beach. It was worth the trip.
Episodes #892 - 895 and Mashup 171 are in the vault.
