Happy September long weekend, everyone! We kicked off the festivities with a favorite from my childhood, “Rookie of the Year”—a hilarious '90s flick about a 12-year-old kid who, after a freak accident, lands a spot pitching for the Chicago Cubs with a rocket arm, stealing the show and turning their season around. The kids were howling with laughter all night! Below, check out a favorite clip from the movie and a picture of the kids curled up on the deck, soaking up a gorgeous August evening.

In other news, Digital ID in Alberta—pitched as convenience, but doesn’t it sound familiar? Podcast guests have long warned about CBDCs, digital IDs, and climate lockdowns, and now it’s like déjà vu as these ideas slip into reality overnight. Or am I the crazy one for connecting the dots?

On a brighter note, Leif and Becky Andersen swung through Lloydminster this week, and we checked out the new location together. Their visit was a reminder of the tight-knit community we’ve got here.
